Sgt. Michael O'Conner Is Greenwich Police Officer of the Month

Veteran officer recognized for Hurricane Sandy relief work.

 

The Greenwich Police Department has annouced that Sgt. Michael O’Conner has been named Officer of the Month for December.

O'Conner, according to the department, has demonstrated exceptional leadership and compassion while assisting Greenwich residents affected by Hurricane Sandy. In addition to his on duty efforts, O’Conner has lead
several groups of local citizens and other off-duty officers to respond to the Breezy Point Section of New York to assist those who were most significantly affected by Hurricane Sandy.

O’Conner has spent many hours and other personal resources to assist in the hurricane relief effort. "This is but one example of SGT O’Conner‘s exceptional service that have spanned a career of over 26 years, according to a release issued by the department.
