Shoppers who register at Fairway Market can help the Greenwich Police Department's Never Forget motorcycle program tonight.
From 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, the store at 699 Canal St. in Stamford, will donate 25 percent of all purchases made by registered users.
Members of the Greenwich Police Department participate in the Never Forget motorcycle ride that pays tribute to the heroism and the sacrifices made by Americans on Sept. 11, 2001. During the annual 911 Ride, motorcyclists travel between The World Trade Center, The Pentagon and Shanksville, PA to honor America’s First Responders.
"Our Department was awarded a new police motorcycle during the 2011 911 ride and we plan to paint, decorate and display our new motorcycle as a tribute to the many heroes that fell that day," said Tom Keegan, a retired Greenwich Police Department lieutenant who is the fund-raiser for the department's Silver Shield Association. "We sincerely appreciate yours and Fairway Market’s support of that effort."
