Stuck Tractor-Trailer Halts Merritt Parkway Traffic in Greenwich

Police are urging motorists to avoid the area of Exit 29/Lake Avenue.

A tractor-trailer attempting to exit the Merritt Parkway at Exit 29/Lake Avenue in Greenwich has become stuck and snarled northbound traffic, officials say.

In a 1:42 p.m. bulletin to the media, Greenwich Police Lt. Kraig Gray said Connecticut State Police are en route and that a local officer is on scene to try and help alleviate traffic flow.

“That tractor trailer has now stopped all entrance and exit [traffic] at Lake Avenue at the northbound side of the parkway,” Gray said. “We are urging all residents to avoid the area.”
