Information is supplied by Greenwich Police and does not reflect guilt or convictions.

Two Stamford teens were arrested on charges they burglarized an Old Greenwich house Monday morning, awakening a sleeping resident.

Greenwich Police say they are continuing their investigation which netted four youths being caught after a foot chase that involved both Greenwich and Stamford Police. Police had enough information to charge two, according to Lt. Kraig Gray. More arrests are expected, he said.

The scene unfolded at a Halsey Drive home shortly before 10:30 a.m. Monday when a 16-year-old resident called 911 to report he was awakened by noise and found burglars in his family's kitchen. Gray said a rock was used to break through a door. The suspects fled as the first Greenwich Police officers responded, prompting a chase through the neighborhood.

The unidentified 15-year-old suspect and Keon N. Salmond, 19, of 138 Connecticut Ave., were each charged with 2nd-degree burglary; criminal attempt at 2nd-degree burglary; and 2nd-degree criminal mischief. The 15-year-old also was charged with interfering with a police officer, and Salmond was charged with attempt at 2nd-degree criminal mischief.

Gray said that the Stamford Police canine unit was brought in and tracked the suspects scents to several other homes in the Halsey Drive area but there wasn't any evidence the homes were burglarized.
