Teen Busted For Pot Possession

A Greenwich teen was arrested after a drug-sniffing canine found marijuana hidden in the teen's car.

 

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on a pot possession charge after he was initially stopped by Greenwich Police for traffic violations.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the Greenwich teen was stopped for unspecified motor vehicle violations at 8:10 p.m. Jan. 26 on Davis Avenue. The investigating officer smelled the odor of raw marijuana in the car and requested a canine unit search the car, according to the report.

The dog found three small bags in an arm rest and cupholder another on the floor of the car. The contents—weighing 3.2 grams—tested positive for marijuana, according to the report.

The teen was charged with possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana. He was released and scheduled to appear Feb. 12 in the juvenile matters division of state Superior Court in Stamford.
