Information supplied by the Greenwich Police Department and does not indicate guilt or conviction.

A 17-year-old Greenwich boy, who police said survived a heroin overdose, has been arrested on charges he used his bedroom as the base for operating a drug factory.

According to a statement released by Greenwich Police Friday, the unidentified teen surrendered to police May 26 after they obtained an arrest warrant.  Greenwich Police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray said the investigation began earlier this year after police and emergency medical personnel were summoned to the boy’s home for “a possible heroin overdose in which the suspect was saved by medical intervention … at the time there was a large amount of narcotics present. The (department’s) narcotics division investigated.”

According to Gray, officers seized quantities of heroin, methamphetamines, marijuana, unspecified tablets and capsules amphetamines, “prescribed drugs that are frequently abused – powerful narcotics … hydromorphone, sedatives.” A quantity of drug paraphernalia also was seized including scales, syringes, “ … a cell phone with contact information of the people he supplied, … rolling papers, plastic bags, a cigarette roller,” Gray added.
