Those Buds Weren't for a Greenwich Teen; Larceny, Soliciting, Failure to Appear Arrests Highlight Crime Blotter

Those Buds weren't for a 16-year-old Greenwich teen was arrested on driving while intoxicated and possession of alcohol by a minor charges following a two-car crash on West Putnam Avenue Sunday.

According to Greenwich Police, the teen was charged after they saw him run over two full cans of Budweiser as he moved his car into a parking lot following an accident near420 W. Putnam Ave. A passenger in the car the teen is accused of hitting, also told police he saw the accused driver  and his passenger remove two 30-packs of Bud and hide them next to a nearby Dumpster before police arrived at the accident scene.

Police also said they found a bag filled with bottles of Heineken beer inside the car. The driver was released in the custody of his father who posted $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear May 23 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Grey Rock Drive man was arrested Tuesday on charges he broke into a parked car and stole a variety of jewelry, electronics and rare coins.

Edward F. Myder Jr., age unavailable, was arrested about noon Tuesday by Greenwich Police who obtained an arrest warrant in connection with the April 11 theft. The stolen items had a value of more than $5,000, but less than $10,000, police said.

Myder was released after posting $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear May 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Detroit, MI man was arrested Tuesday evening after Greenwich Police say they found him selling magazine subscriptions on Church Street without a town solicitor's permit or a Connecticut tax stamp.

Robert A. Norrell, 42, was held in lieu of $500 bond and scheduled to appear May 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A town woman was arrested on a slew of charges ranging from failure to appear in court to violating a protective order on Monday.

Greenwich Police obtained warrants for the charges lodged against Nancy Lanuk, 47, of 22 Halock Dr. She was charged with one count of 1st-degree failure to appear to appear in court in for an Oct. 25 driving while intoxicated charge; 2nd-degree failure to appear in court for an Oct. 25 disorderly conduct charge; 2nd-degree failure to appear in court for a Nov. 17 reckless driving charge; four counts of violation of conditions of release and two counts of violation of a protective order related to a previous arrest at her home and a protective order preventing her from contacting a person.

Lanuk was held in lieu of $60,000 bond and scheduled to appear Tuesday in state Superior Court in Stamford.
