Town Teen Faces Assault Charge

Arrest stems from fisticuffs with another teen.

A fight between 2 Greenwich teens left one with a bloodied nose and some bruises and another facing a third-degree assault charge, according to  Greenwich Police.

According to a police report released May 7, the incident occurred April 26 after the pair exited their school bus on Hamilton Avenue. The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries. The 16-year-old suspect was charged on April 28 and taken to the Bridgeport Juvenile Detention Center to await a May 1 appearance in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.

A driver was arrested on motor vehicle charges after Greenwich Police say the man was driving a car without a rear license plate.

Hector Bustos, 43, who gave an address of 51 Williams St., Stamford, was charged with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, misuse of plates and operating without a license. Bustos is accused of having a set of license plates inside the windshield of the car he was driving that were issued for another vehicle. He's also accused of not having a driver's license when police stopped him about 4:30 a.m. May 5 on East Putnam Avenue, near Indian Field Road.

Bustos was released to the custody of Stamford Police who held an arrest warrant for him on unspecified charges. He was scheduled to appear May 21 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
