Town Teen Faces Failure to Appear in Court Charges

Another arrest involves man busted for DWI.

responding to a report of a verbal dispute ended up arresting a Greenwich teen on charges he failed to appear in court twice to answer drug-related charges.

Wesley M. Oler, 18, who gave an address of 35 Boulder Brook Rd., Greenwich, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. May 18 following the disagreement in a Boulder Brook Road home. Oler was charged with one count each of first- and second-degree failure to appear in court. He is accused of failing to appear in court Jan. 5 and Jan. 13 on drug-related charges lodged against him Nov. 26, 2011.

was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of marijuana and sixth-degree larceny. Oler is accused of taking drinks from a cooler in the CVS store, 122 Post Rd., Cos Cob, throwing them on the floor and then leaving without paying for the items.

He was released after posting $3,500 bond and scheduled to appear May 25 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A Greenwich man stopped by police for speeding on West Putnam Avenue early Thursday faces driving while intoxicated and marijuana possession charges.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Kyle R. Conetta, 20, who gave an address of 26 W. Church St., was stopped after police paced him driving "no less than 50 mph" on West Putnam Avenue and failing to use a turn signal about 1:45 a.m., May 17. Police said a smell of marijuana was emanating from the car and during a search of the vehicle, they found 4 plastic bags with a green leafy substance "that Conetta related was his marijuana."

Conetta admitted to consuming alcohol before driving his car and failed a field sobriety test, according to the report.

He was charged with traveling too fast, failure to use a signal, driving while intoxicated and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana. He was released after posting $300 bond and scheduled to appear May 24 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

Greenwich Police are investigating the theft of more than $1,000 worth of salvage copper from a King Street home that's being prepared for demolition.

According to police, workers have been collecting the copper from the home in the 1300 block of King Street and reported the theft shortly after 1 p.m. May 18.
