Town Teens Behaving Badly ... Allegedly

One suspect accused of fighting with step-father and having pot; another accused of taking relative's credit card to activate her cell phone.

A fight between a man and his 16-year-old stepson has lead to the arrest of the teen on a variety of assault, pot possession and criminal mischief charges.

Several officers were sent to the pair's home on Jan. 3 and found the teen walking on a nearby street. After returning him to the home, police determined that the teen had marijuana in individually wrapped packets and also smoked some in front of three siblings. There was an argument with his step-father in which the older man was punched and his head slammed into a wall.

The teen also is accused of breaking a front door glass pane. He was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

He was issued a juvenile summons to appear Jan. 10 in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.

Greenwich Police arrested a 15-year-old town girl on a variety of charges stemming from the use of a family member's credit card to activate a cell phone.

Police were summoned to the family's home on Jan. 3 on a report of a domestic violence incident. According to a police report, the teen told officer's she took a family member's credit card to activate her cell phone for $100. That unidentified family member confiscated the phone and an argument between the two ensued, with the teen continually screaming at the relative and banging on a bathroom door.

The teen was charged with sixth-degree larceny, disorderly conduct, illegal use of a credit card and receiving goods or services illegally. She was given a juvenile summons and scheduled to appear Jan. 17 in the Juvenile Matters Division of state Superior Court in Stamford.

Greenwich Police have arrested an 18-year-old town woman on charges she failed to appear in court for a domestic violence case.

Nataly Ospina, who gave an address of 1 LeGrande Ave., was arrested on first-degree failure to appear in court and second-degree failure to appear in court. She was arrested Thursday at the Stamford restaurant where she works, according to a police report. Details of the original arrest in February 2011 were not provided.

Ospina was released after posting $15,000 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 13 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

A 35-year-old New Rochelle, NY man was arrested by Greenwich Police who obtained an arrest warrant charging him with second-degree harassment and violation of a protection order.

The man surrendered to police Jan. 4. The incident involved several telephone calls made to the suspect's ex-wife, according to a police report. He was held in lieu of $1,000 bond. His court date was unavailable.

A variety of motor vehicle charges have been lodged against a Cos Cob man following a minor motor vehicle crash Wednesday morning on the Post Road, near Salem Street.

Following the 8:30 a.m. crash on Jan. 4, police arrested Wesley Alves Teixeira, 31, who gave an address of 37 Valley Rd., for reckless driving, following too close, operating a motor vehicle with an out-of-state license plate, operating a motor vehicle without a valid state license and four counts of unsafe tires. Bond was set at $400.

Police also found that Teixeira was wanted by Immigration and Naturalization Service and was held on a $2,500 bond. His court date was unavailable.
