Town Woman Charged with Failure to Appear, Robbery

Greenwich Police also investigate 2 possible shoplifting cases.

A Byram woman who surrendered to Greenwich Police on a charge of second-degree failure to appear in court ended up also facing a first-degree robbery charge.

According to a Greenwich Police report, Tamar Costanza, 19, of 346 Delavan Ave., Greenwich, surrendered to police June 4. An arrest warrant charged her with failing to appear in court on April 10 to answer a disorderly conduct charge in connection with a Dec. 31, 2011 incident.

During the arrest process police discovered that Bridgeport Police had obtained a warrant charging her with first-degree robbery. Bridgeport police took custody of her after she posted $500 bond on the failure to appear in court charge. Details about the robbery charge were not provided.

An employee of the women's clothing store Talbot's, 161 Greenwich Ave., reported 24 women's shirts with a total value of $1,000 was missing shortly after 1:30 p.m. June 6.

Employees of the Great Stuff clothing store, 321 Greenwich Ave., reported a $200 coat was missing shortly after 4 p.m. June 6.
