Two Face Charges After Fight at 21st Birthday Party


Two men are facing charges following a fight at a 21st birthday party at private club in the Pemberwick section of Greenwich.

The suspects were found a short a distance away from the Polish Club on Greenway Drive, according to Greenwich Police.

Police responded to a report there was a fight that broke out at the birthday party and that a baseball bat and a knife were displayed during the incident, reported about 1 a.m. Feb. 9. One of the two people who tried to break up the fight suffered a cut but refused medical attention, according to the report.

As officers responded to the scene, they found the suspects had fled but stopped them on Pemberwick Road, according to the report.

Charged with second-degree breach of peace and threatening were Ruben F. Goncalves, 26, of 50 Greenfield Rd., Stamford, and Moreno M. Rodrigues, 30, of the same address.

Both men were released on a written promise to appear Feb. 18 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
