Woman Faces Afternoon DWI Charge in Greenwich

A 49-year-old woman faces a slew of charges including driving while intoxicated following a Monday afternoon incident on High Street, in the Byram neighborhood of Greenwich.

According to a Greenwich Police report, officers were sent to High Street after a resident reported there was a woman banging on the front door shortly before 1 p.m. April 22.

The woman fled from the house before officers arrived, according to the reports. Nancy Lanuk, 49, of 22 Halock Dr., Greenwich, was stopped by officers on Byram Road.

"It was determined that she had been drinking earlier in the day. Lanuk displayed glassy and bloodshot eyes and the odor of an alcohol type beverage was detected on and about Lanuk," according to the reports. She also failed field sobriety tests.

Lanuk was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop upon signal of an officer/engaging in pursuit, second-degree breach of peace and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond on those charges was set at $5,000.

Police also charged her with two counts of violation of probation stemming from incidents in October 2010 and March 2011. Bond on those charges was set at $25,000 for each count.

Lanuk was unable to post bond. She was scheduled to appear April 29 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
