Woman Faces Greenwich Charges of Exploiting Elderly Person

A 58-year-old woman is facing a larceny charge after she allegedly convinced an elderly person withdraw money from a credit union account and give it to her.

According to a Greenwich Police report, the suspect, identified as Patricia McFadden, 58, of 28 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr., Norwalk, was arrested on June 4 by investigators who obtained an arrest warrant charging her with second-degree larceny exploitation of the elderly and criminal attempt.

McFadden is accused of having the victim withdraw money from a Greenwich Hospital Credit Union account on July 9, 2013 and give her the money. She also is accused of attempting the victim to do the same thing again on July 22, 2013, according to the report.

The report did not detail McFadden's relationship with the victim or the amount of money involved.

McFadden was released on a written promise to appear June 11 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
