Woman Faces Larceny Charge in Shoplifting Case


A 44-year-old woman is facing a larceny charge in connection with a shoplifting incident at the CVS pharmacy in Riverside.

According to Greenwich Police, the woman was seen placing several items including four electric toothbrushes into a bag while inside the store about 12:30 p.m. Jan. 7. A police officer spotted the car that store employees reported the woman fled in, which police stopped on the Exit 5 on-ramp of I-95, according to a police report.

Beryl L. Brooks of 841 Colorado Ave., Bridgeport, was charged with sixth-degree larceny. She was released after posting $500 bond and scheduled to appear Jan. 15 in state Superior Court in Stamford.
