Campaign Notebook: Murphy Says McMahon Will Outspend Him

Leading Democratic candidate Chris Murphy told the News Times editorial board that if he faces Greenwich resident Linda McMahon in the general election he’s certain he’ll be outspent.

"She's already spent more on TV ads this year than I spent in my entire campaign in 2010," Murphy told the newspaper.

Fourth District

Jim Himes (D): Last week Congress voted to prevent student loan rates from doubling. The decision was praised by Himes.

I’m pleased we have come to an agreement that will both allow smart transportation planning while creating or saving millions of construction jobs and prevent student loan rates from doubling, but these both should have been no-brainers from the beginning,” the Cos Cob resident said in a statement.

Steve Obsitnik (R): Politics is often likened to a competitive game, and that was especially true in Wilton. The Wilton Republican Town Committee and Democratic Town Committee faced off in a softball game, with Obsitnik participating. According to his Facebook page the Republicans won.
