Former Greenwich First Selectman Tom Ragland is undergoing quintuple bypass surgery Thursday morning at Stamford Hospital.
Current First Selectman Peter Tesei made the announcement at the opening of the bi-weekly Board of Selectmen meeting at Greenwich Town Hall Thursday. "Tom Ragland is undergoing quintuple bypass surgery at Stamford Hospital as we speak. We want to ofer our support, best wishes and prayers," Tesei said.
Ragland was a two-term Republican first selectman from 1995 to 1999 and served as a selectman from 1993 to 1995, Tesei said.
Tesei said he expects Ragland to recover and have stories to tell "with his wonderful sense of humor." He also suggested residents send cards to Ragland at 2 Spring St., Riverside, 06878.
