  • Christopher Shays (R):  Shays posted an update on his Facebook page asking followers to tune in to the two scheduled debates in the coming weeks between himself and GOP rival, Linda McMahon. The first one was hosted by the Courant and Fox CT at the on Thursday, June 14 and the next will be held July 18 on NBC Connecticut. 
  • Chris Murphy (D): U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy met with students with a detailed plan of a legislative proposal he will present next week for the extension of Junior ROTC programs, like the one in effect at Bethel High School. As reported by the NewsTimes, this would require the federal government to pay for additional instructors as program enrollment reached over 15 percent of the high school student body.

  • Steve Obsitnik (R): Obsitnik posted this update on his Twitter account: "Speaking with the Ladies for Liberty in Trumbull" as well as a photo of the event on his Facebook page. 
  • Jim Himes (D): The congressman wished the U.S Army a Happy 237th Birthday in this video celebrating American military history with local veterans. “The United States Army has embodied what it is to be an American and, of course, protected us and the values that we hold so dear,” he said in the video. “It is a real pleasure to help the Army celebrate this 237th birthday to remind each and every American of how much that army is intertwined with our people and our history.”
