Incumbent Livvy Floren Fends Off Challenge by John Blankley [UPDATED] [VIDEO]

The 149th State House representative wins 7th term.

State Rep. Livvy Floren easily won a 7th term in a challenge from Democrat John Blankley for the seat that represents both Greenwich and parts of Stamford.

Floren said she was looking forward to returning to Hartford to continue the work she has been doing. "I'm excited and I am enthusiastic about going back to work for the people," Floren said.

Republican incumbent Livvy Floren is seeking reelection to a seventh term representing Greenwich and a part of Stamford.

She is challenged by Democrat John Blankley, a Greenwich businessman who previously served on the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting.

Floren is a 1964 graduate of Vassar College with a degree in economics and previously worked in public relations. She says, "I am working for you to lower taxes, attract business and create jobs, and protect the environment."

Blankley served on the RTM for four years, sitting on the finance and claims committees. In 2011 he ran unsuccessfully for First Selectman. A chartered accountant, he is part-owner of a computer consulting company, Flagship Networks, which has created 30 jobs in Connecticut.
