Greenwich has been randomly selected to participate in a post-election hand count audit, to be conducted by the Connecticut Secretary of State office on Monday.
District 8 (Central) is the polling location involved in the hand count audit and the offices that will be reviewed are for President, Representative in Congress, and Registrar of Voters.
The primary purpose of the hand count audit is to assess how well the optical scan voting machines functioned in an actual election and to ensure that votes cast using these machines are counted properly and accurately.
This is not a recount but a test to verify that the voting tabulators accurately counted ballots that were properly marked.
This audit will begin at 11 a.m. on Nov. 26, in the Cone Room at Greenwich Town Hall.
