Questions answered: What is Cancer Support Community?

As we get closer to the November 8 inaugural gala of the Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut, we have received many inquiries about the organization and what services we’ll provide for people living with cancer.

The Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut (CSC-SCT) is an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community – an international network of independently chartered non-profit organizations. Our mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community so that no one faces cancer alone.

CSC was formed by the unification of The Wellness Community and Gilda’s Club, and will serve Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties and is raising funds to build its first facility in southern Connecticut, with significant offsite programming also planned through a variety of partnerships in multiple communities throughout the region.
