Greenwich Public Schools has announced the appointments of three administrators including two assistant elementary school principals and a new world languages coordinator for the district.

The appointments were made this week by school Superintendent William McKersie.

She's been the interim assistant principal at North Mianus since May.

Carmen Vargas-Guevara has been named assistant principal of the Hamilton Avenue Elementary School. Guevara is the assistant principal of the W. Edward Balmer Elementary School in Northbridge, MA. Guevara has taught in the Boston, Lynn, and Lawrence Public Schools and has been an administrator in East Haven and Hartford. Guevara has supervised K-5 programs including special education, guided reading, ESL coordination, and bilingual program supervision.

Viviana Conner has been hired as the World Languages Coordinator for the school district. She will be coming from the Hallen School in Bridgeport where she is the principal. Connor is bilingual and has been a Spanish teacher as well as a school administrator.

Conner implemented and monitored school-wide data teams using data driven decision-making.  She developed and implemented school-based professional development, and ensured that all bilingual and special education needs were being met for the school’s students. In addition to having been a Spanish teacher, Conner was an administrator of a high school bilingual department and world language department (grades 9-12).
