Ham Ave School Students Are a Calculating Group

Hamilton Avenue students math-a-thon raises money for a cause; town residents earn academic, campus awards.

students love their math lessons.

The students just completed a Math-a-Thon organized by teacher Cathy Byrne. They asked friends and family to sponsor them and then solved 200 math problems online or in the Funbook provided by St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Students collected the donations and Byrne mailed them to St. Judes's. The students are receiving certificates, T-shirts and prizes this week.

Local Students Earn Honor Roll at Pomfret School

Pomfret School has announced that Greenwich residents Philip Smith, a member of the Class of 2013, and Bobby Walker and a member of the Class of 2014, were named to the honor roll for the fall term of 2011.

Sydney Hanlon Wins Campus Activity Awards at Eastern Connecticut State University

Greenwich resident Sydney Hanlon, Class of 2013, of was one of 15 Eastern Connecticut State University students receiving awards at the recent National Association for Campus Activities regional conference in Hartford. Members of Eastern's Campus Activity Board (CAB), competed in several categories and took home the honors for best flier, best themed campaign and best traditional promotion for their division. Hanlon is majoring in Communication.
