Parents: Top 10 Must-Have Phone Numbers

Be prepared for when the kids go back to school.

Each year, parents fill out cards for school emergency numbers, but what happens when you are the one facing an emergency? How well prepared are you? Having all emergency phone numbers with you at all times will earn you peace of mind, and will assure that if an emergency should occur, everyone else will be prepared as well.

Keeping this list entered in your cell phone, and on paper in your wallet, will assure that no matter what you forget when you leave home, you will be prepared for any emergency.

4. Enter all phone numbers of important school personnel by direct number, such as Nurse, School Secretary, Principal. Not only will this help you avoid the schools frustrating phone tree, it will also let you know who is calling you if you are in a meeting and hesitant to answer an incoming call.

5. The phone number for the bus company. Very young students have been known to get on the wrong bus. Rather then having to track down the number in a panic when the bus arrives and there is no Johnny, having the bus company's number enables you to call them, and they can contact their drivers immediately.

6. Car emergency numbers: Having the phone number for your mechanic, your Triple A phone number and account number, and your insurance agent's number will help you get back on the road ASAP instead of searching for numbers while you are already frustrated.

7. Your local taxi company, in case of Number 6.

8. Poison Control, for obvious reasons.

9. The police and the fire department

10. Your best friend, mother or super duper support person. In times of trouble, we may even forget their numbers. Best to have them handy in case any of the above should occur.
