Each of the students, four second-graders and one  first-grader, participate in the Ham. Ave. Suzuki Music Magnet Program. Their selection resulted from a high level of commitment to the program and its music. The students and their families dedicate themselves to a consistent home practice routine, excellent class attendance, and cultivate a positive attitude towards learning. These students have achieved a high level of mastery on their instrument in order to play in Carnegie Hall.

A big congratulations shout-out to first-grade cellist Naomi Turner-Smart and second-grade violinists Anna Maldonado, Dylan Maloney, Thomas Nonkovic and Armin Ohadi.

Also called the “Mother Tongue Method” and “Talent Education,” the Suzuki Method creates student success by following the method of language acquisition.  When this method is used, all children who have sufficient talent to speak their native tongue achieve equal or greater fluency in other skills such as music.
