Greenwich Police Explorers Zumba Fundraiser

The Explorers (Cadet) Program is a learning program for high school aged youths who have an interest in the field of Law Enforcement. Members recieve classroom and hands on training on what police officers do everyday of their career, from accident investigation, to high risk felony stops, to arson investigations.

The Explorers (Cadets) are taught leadership and responsibility, while at the same time, providing community service to the Town of Greenwich. The program's Captain, under the direction of Police Officer Thomas Huestis, Samuel T. Zack states, "This program is one of the best, always evolving into something better. When I joined in 2004, I never realized this would be the experience of a lifetime."

The program has approximately 35 members who plan to attend conferences and a "Cadet Police Academy" in the summer, and is currently looking for your assistance in helping donate to make sure all members are able to attend the 'mock police academy', which has been in operation for over the past 10 years.

"The support we get from the public is very important because it's always a good feeling to know that we are recognized and supported", Zack said.

To help fundraise, the program is holding a Zumba Fitness Fundraiser Event to help all members attend the Cadet Police Academy. The event will be Saturday, May 19th from 2 pm until 4pm at the of Greenwich. A minimum donation is $10 for two hours of dancing fun!
