Youth Fencing: Beginners & Intermidate

Join All American Jean Goto from Greenwich Fencing and explore the fundamentals of fencing, focusing on beginners foil. Students will learn basic footwork, bladework and bouting. The class aims to make fencing accessible and fun; challenging students physically, while also teaching them the benefits of focus, sportsmanship and coordination. Weekly fencing equipment rentals included.

Jean Goto began her fencing career in New York, NY at the Peter Westbrook Foundation at the New York Fencers Club at the age of 10 and has been teaching fencing since 2003. She is a former nationally ranked fencer; an all American who competed at a national level for 9 years and medaled in 8 North American Cups and in more than 25 regional and local tournaments. Jean is the co-founded the Greenwich Fencing School, a United States Fencing Association fencing club, with friend and Olympian Kamara James.
