Greenwich Beats Out New Canaan For FCIAC Boys Swimming Title
Cardinals win the championship for the 40th time in the last 41 years
In local sporting circles, there is nothing quite as certain as Greenwich winning the FCIAC boys swimming championship.
Posting a total score of 371.5 points, the Cardinals held off New Canaan on Thursday night to capture the FCIAC title for the 40th time in the last 41 years.
New Canaan (350.5) finished 21 points behind the Cardinals, followed by Westhill/Stamford (338) and Darien (280).

Greenwich's quartet of Matt Fraser, Eric Minowitz, Andrew Dillinger and Michael Dustin capped the night by winning the 400 freestyle in an FCIAC record time of 3 minutes, 11.42 seconds.
Dustin won the 100 butterfly for the second straight year with a time of 50.71 while Dillinger placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:43.04).

Also for Greenwich, Alex Lewis finished third in the 100 backstroke and Tony Martir placed third in the 100 breaststroke.
