Greenwich was eliminated from the 13-year-old District One Babe Ruth tournament following a 7-0 loss to Stamford on Thursday.

Matt Fraioli took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and finished with a two-hitter for Stamford, which face Darien in the best two-of-three final beginning on Friday. 

In the 14s, Greenwich reached the final with a 4-2 win over Darien on Wednesday. In the final, also a best-of-three, it will face Stamford, which eliminated Darien with a 6-3 victory on Thursday.

All games in the final will be played Byram Field. Friday's contest is at 5:30 p.m., Saturday's game is at 10 a.m. and Sunday's game also will be played at 10, if necessary.

In the 15s, Greenwich also will play in the final after defeating defeating Darien 9-6 on Thursday.

Erick Boender allowed three runs over six innings for Greenwich, which will get another crack at Stamford following Wednesday's 15-4 drubbing.   

All games in the 15-year-old series are set for Stamford's Cubeta Stadium: Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 5:30 p.m. (if necessary)

-- The Greenwich Point 1-Mile Swim gets under way Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at Tod's Point in Old Greenwich.

The pre-entry fee for adults aged 19 and older is $40 for entries postmarked by July 1, and the fee is $50 thereafter. The fee for participants aged 18 and under is $20. For more info, visit www.threadsandtreads.com or call 203-661-0142.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall finishers and top three in all five-year age groups. Wetsuits are allowed, but will be ineligible for awards. The swim is part of the Stamford Greenwich Cup series.
