Greenwich Scores and Standings: June 6

The sixth-seeded Greenwich girls lacrosse team visits No. 3 Hall on Monday (5 p.m.) in the quarterfinals of the CIAC Class L state tournament.

The Cardinals advanced with a 16-8 victory over Ridgefield on Thursday. The winner of Monday's game takes on either Cheshire on Danbury in the semifinals.

There is an FCIAC team involved in every quarterfinal as Fairfield Ludlowe visits top seed Newtown and Staples hosts Glastonbury.

-- Three Greenwich players -- No. 2 Tyler Kratky, No. 14 Blake Niehaus and unseeded Tatsuya Tasaki - have reached the third round of the Class LL state tournament.

All three will be in action Monday.  Kratky takes on No. 15 Wesley Craft of Fairfield Prep, Niehaus meets No. 3 seed Andrew Ginzberg of Amity and Tasaki battles No. 11 seed  Eduardo Rosadio of Simsbury.

The third-round matches begin at 1:30 p.m. at Hall followed by the quarterfinals.

So far, Greenwich leads the team competition with 18 points, one ahead of Staples. Glastonbury is third with 13 points, followed by Ridgefield, Westhill and Fairfield Prep, who are tied for fourth with 11 points.

In doubles, Greebwich's CJ Purse-Michael Grund, the No. 4 seeds, take on the No. 6 seeds Garav Bhat-Michael Santacroce of Amity in the quarterfinals.

Greenwich's Jennifer Deluca, the No. 3 seed, has advanced to the third round of the girls state Open championship and will play No. 14 seed Selina Nephuth of Glastonbury.

Third-round and quarterfinal matches will be played Monday at the Yale University courts beginning at 1 p.m.
