Be Coooooooool, stay Coooooooooool
The coolest place in summer is the water - here are some ideas on how to get out onto the water even if you don't have your own boat. Stay cool!
The WATER is the coolest place in summer - check out Jason Romero of the Boys and Girls Club of Greenwich out on a laser for the first time as part of the Young Mariners program. Here are some ideas on how to be coooool on the water:
- Take your own boat out (or make friends with someone who has a boat, and offer to bring lunch to a boating outing)
- Join a Greenwich Squadron raft-up (check out www.GreenwichSPS.org)
- Check out Greenwich Community Sailing at Greenwich Point and hire an instructor to take you out, take a class with them, rent a kayak or a paddleboard or if you can sail already, rent one of theirs for a couple of hours.
- Hang out near Old Greenwich Yacht Club where the kayak racks are and see if you can find someone to take you out on the water
- Go to your nearest dock or marina and chat with boaters to see if they need someone on board
- Join one of the Town boat clubs (Old Greenwich Yacht Club, Mianus River Boat & Yacht Club, Greenwich Boat & Yacht Club) and take advantage of their events on the water
- Join the Water Club in Cos Cob - where you can dine as well as get out on the water - or learn to row.
There's so much water close to all of us in Greenwich - try to get ON it OFTEN!
