Close to home, there are needs as well. For example, Tucker by Gaby Basora - a popular line of delightful prints - shirts, dresses, pants with 100% of the proceeds going to the www.lilysarahgracefund.org in honor of the three little girls who died last Christmas in the fire in Stamford, CT; Jewelry For A Cause whose owner, Jessica Mindich, creates beautiful pieces representing causes and donates a portion back to the BFFL - bags filled with everything needed for someone going through a mastectomy or with a brain injury; beautiful caftans and tunics sewn by Calm NYC to support underprivileged Lebanese women; carpets & fabrics from Custom Cool that works with Good Weave that works to support textile factories that put human dignity first & ensure that no child labor is used.
Feeling a little hungry after all this traveling & shopping? Time to make yourself the “cause” & enjoy a healthy treat or two. Mike’s Organics is supporting farmers near Greenwich by marketing fresh fruits, vegetables &
cheeses from local farms. Try Virginia Marzonie’s Five Nuts Granola which donates 5% of the profit towards infertility treatment, education and research. Refresh with a drink from Green and Tonic, just opened in Cos Cob. Concerned about certain ingredients? You are safe with gluten free brownies from Freed Goods & nut free cookies from You & Me Cookies. Check out if they have a “cookie for a cause,” a special cookie with profits donated to a special cause. Or learn more about how yoga might help you
from Sonia Jones at Jois Yoga studio.
The vendors will not only be selling their products, but also talking about how they are helping & trying to make a difference both here at home & around the world. They will even be showcasing volunteer opportunities that go hand in hand with their mission from helping pack bags for wounded soldiers to traveling to Tanzania to see your money in action.
