Crafts, Choirs and The Civil War: Weekend Programs In and Around Greenwich


Choir and House Band Shabbat Service with GRS
Join Greenwich Reform Synagogue Friday, Jan. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church at 4 Riverside Ave. for a Choir and House Band Shabbat Service, followed by refreshments and conversation. 

Family Craft: Andrea: Kente Cloth Designs in Paper
Create traditional African Kente cloth designs with paper at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Byram Shubert Library Community Room, Mead Avenue. For information, call 203-531-0426.

CT Service Plazas 1st Child Safety Day

On Saturday, January 18, the Connecticut Service Plazas will hold its first Child Safety day from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Free AmberAlert Child ID cards will be distributed to parents or guardians of the children in attendance. The Safety Day will be held at the I-95 Darien Southbound Service Plaza. 


Friends Children's Show: The Civil War

On Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. the Friends of Greenwich Library will help bring the complexity of the Civil War to life for young audiences in grades 3-9 through a stirring production by Theatreworks USA. This 60-minute theatrical production is appropriate for children in grades 3-9, and is open to all at no charge through the support of the Friends of Greenwich Library. Assigned seating tickets are limited to six per person and will be available at noon at the auditorium. Return at 1:50 pm when the doors will open for the performance. 

Tech Talk: Digitizers and 3D Printing with Jenny Lawton
Former Greenwich resident Jenny Lawton will talk about MakerBot, a leader in the 3D printing industry, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Byram Shubert Library Community Room, Mead Avenue. For information, 203-531-0426.

An Acoustic Evening with Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt 
The Tarrytown Music Hall hosts Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt, two Music Hall vets will join forces for an intimate performance at 7 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19.
