Go to These Museums for Free on Saturday
Check out one of these museums in Connecticut, Westchester County, New York City or Long Island on Saturday, Sept. 28, as part of the Smithsonian's "Museum Day Live" program.
On Saturday, you and one other person can get in free to a slew of museums around Connecticut, Westchester County and New York City with a ticket you can get at the Smithsonian Magazine website.
The Sept. 28 "Museum Day Live" event is an annual one sponsored by the Smithsonian Museums "in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket... for free," according to the Smithsonian Magazine website. For the ticket, go to the magazine's website.
Here are some of the rules and restrictions:
- Only an official Museum Day Live! ticket is eligible for free entry. Official tickets can be found here on the Museum Day Live! website soon.
- One ticket per household, for two people.
- A ticket will gain entry to only one of the participating museums, excluding parking and special events and exhibits.
- If museum reaches capacity, museum has the right to limit the number of guests until space becomes available.
Discovery Museum in Bridgeport also has free admission on Saturday, but it looks like that museum is offering free admission independent of the Smithsonian program, so you don't need a Smithsonian ticket to get in.
