If you've ever noticed the window boxes in Old Greenwich retailers' storefronts, the train station or by the post office, you've noticed the work of the Garden Club of Old Greenwich.

The private, invitational club began in 1924 and has promoted civic beautification in Old Greenwich ever since. The garden club is a member of the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut, National Garden Clubs and the New England Region of National Garden Clubs.

The group's 60 active members typically meet once a month at various locations and convene for a joint meeting each fall with Knollwood and Riverside Garden Clubs.

Annual events include the Standard Flower Show each fall and the Mothers' Day weekend plant sale.
