Protecting and preserving the community of Byram are some 40 volunteer firefighters who make up the Byram VolunteerMore Fire Company. The company is the third of eight stations that serve Greenwich. 

The Greenwich Fire Department is a combination of professional volunteers and uniformed career fire fighters who respond to over 4,000 emergency calls each year.

Stroll through Byram Shore Park and you'll find the Byram Shore Boat Club, a small club that was established in 1921.More Membership is open to all interested Greenwich residents, regardless of boating knowledge or experience. The club organizes a number of programs for its 200 members, from boating and fishing tournaments to clambakes and barbecues.

It operates from the town-owned Byram Shore Marina, which has about 300 slips for small boats and another 100 slips for larger boats.

Byram Archibald Neighborhood Center

The Byram Archibald Neighborhood Center serves Byram and western Greenwich. Once a candy factory and then a MasonicMore temple, the BANC building on Delavan Avenue was revamped into a community center in 1981. BANC offers a number of after-school programs and youth sports activities. The gymnasium is available to rent for events such as birthday parties, receptions and dance class instruction. Scholarships are available to the hundreds of children who attend. Volunteers are welcome.

Located at the corner of Rich Avenue and Byram Shore Road, Byram Park provides various facilities for residentsMore throughout the Fairfield County area. This park has a clambake area and multiple picnic areas, as well as a baseball field, tennis court and children's playground. Beach access is available, and there is a pool open daily from 10:30am to 5:45pm. The park has a launching ramp for boats, as well as slips for 300 small boats. The facilities are open beginning the Saturday before Memorial Day through Labor Day.
