Patch Celebrates 1st Year in Greenwich

As we start our 2nd year of serving Greenwich, we look forward to bringing you more of the information you need to know every day.

What a year 2011 it has been in Greenwich.

It seemed as though a week didn't go by without a major story breaking whether it involved the weather, government, education, politics or crime. And each day of each week, Greenwich Patch has strived to give you — the community — the best information possible.

As Greenwich Patch marks its 1st year — officially launching a year ago today on Dec. 31, 2010 — we thank you for sharing it with us. We are proud to be Greenwich's network — your community bulletin board and your town-wide, interactive watercooler where readers can connect with what's important to them. And with our reporters, bloggers and commenters, we will continue do that and even more in 2012.

To that end, Greenwich Patch is increasing its community involvement with in Old Greenwich. It is there that Patch has two state-of-the-art touch screen stations near the community bulletin board where residents can catch up on Greenwich news, events and information.

In 2012, we'll be holding "office hours" at Upper Crust so that you can meet us, share your stories, comments, photos and ideas. (We'll post announcements when that will happen.) If you can't meet us there, we look forward to you continuing to send it to us.

In the meantime, whether you're at home here in Greenwich, away at school, or traveling, we hope that you'll stay in touch with Greenwich Patch. When you do, you'll be in good company — New York Yankee first baseman Mark Teixeira. The three-time Golden Glove award-winner and Greenwich resident says he keeps on top of his hometown news by reading Greenwich Patch. (Click on his video at right.) He's originally from Severna Park, MD and keeps tabs on that hometown by regularly reading SevernaPark.patch.com.

It's an exciting year ahead and Greenwich Patch looks forward to sharing it with you.
