A Letter from Andrea and Phil Marella, Parents of Dana Marella

Dana lost her battle with Niemann-Pick type C disease on Friday, July 12th.

On behalf of all the Marella family, we are so grateful for the outpouring of love and affection for our precious daughter, Dana, who lost her battle with Niemann-Pick type C disease last Friday, July 12. The impact she had on so many was truly evident by the overwhelming presence of people both at the wake on Monday, July 15 and at her funeral on Tuesday, July 16.

Dana’s love of life and her strong will, even through her struggles over the years, were such an inspiration to all who knew her. Her beautiful smile and her tender touch will never be forgotten. Right now, we have holes in our hearts that cannot even begin to mend. We have watched over Dana for almost 20 years and now, she will watch over us.  We feel comfort knowing that she will always be our guardian angel. Dana brought such joy in her short life, more joy than most can bring in a lifetime. We are all so blessed to have loved her.

Thank you all for being there to support our family.
