Walk in the Park for Abilis

Family and friends of people with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities will gather to support the nonprofit Abilis on Sunday, Oct. 27 during the eighth annual Walk in the Park for Abilis.
Registration and kid-friendly activities begin at 10:30 a.m. at Greenwich Point Park and a one-mile walk, roll or stroll begins at noon.
Each walker who raises $50 or more will receive an Abilis Tshirt. Proceeds support Abilis' home-based programs for babies and toddlers with delays in their development, as well as Abilis' residential and employment programs for adults.
Attractions include a bounce castle, costumed characters, face painting and crafts for children, and a DJ and walk-fueling, healthy snacks for all. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase.
All-natural soaps and bath salts, candles, dog treats, beaded jewelry and other gift items hand made by adults who are supported by Abilis will be on sale. Items also are sold at Abilis Gifts, 50 Glenville St., Greenwich, the retail-store training site of Abilis.
Information is available at www.abilis.us/walk or by telephoning 203-531-1880 x161.
