Car Vandals Continue to Target Western Greenwich Car Owners

The spree of vandalizing cars parked in the Pemberwick neighborhood on the western side of Greenwich continues unabated.

On late Sunday morning, three Pemberwick Road residents found that their cars had been 'keyed,' or scratched with a sharp object, usually a car key, according to Greenwich Police Lt. John Brown. "The cars were keyed the entire length on the driver's side," Brown said.

The damage was discovered about 11:30 a.m. Aug. 4, according to a police report.

The latest incidents come on the heels of police reporting Aug. 1 that as of that date, there were eight incidents of car vandalism along Pemberwick Road, from its intersection with West Putnam Avenue, north to Moshier Street. Most incidents involved cars being scratched. There also were reports of tires of two cars having been punctured.

If anyone has information or has seen suspicious activity in the area, police ask that they call them at 203 622-8001.
