The New Canaan girls hockey team has gone undefeated against FCIAC opposition the last two years as the Rams' only two defeats have come against Simsbury, once last season and once this year.
will try to end that streak on Wednesday when the Cardinals face New Canaan in the FCIAC championship game at 4 p.m at Stamford's Terry Conners Rink.

Olivia Hompe scored four goals as New Canaan reached the final with a 6-1 win over Darien on Wednesday while Greenwich rallied past Ridgefield 4-3 in the other semifinal. Hannah Jeffrey scored a hat trick and Emily Bacon had the other goal for the Cardinals, who trailed 2-1 after the second period.
New Canaan and Greenwich played twice during the regular season with the Rams posting a 7-1 win on Jan. 14 and a 6-2 victory on Feb. 13. In the two games, Hompe combined for nine goals, scoring five in the first meeting and four in the second contest.

Greenwich's Ryan Whittle is the No. 5 seed in the 170-pound weight class in this weekend's state Open wrestling championships in New Haven while freshman Alex Jarombeck also qualified as the 20th seed at 113 pounds.
The competition is set for Friday and Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
First- and second-round matches will be contested on Friday starting at 4 p.m. After they have been completed, the consolation bouts get under way around 8 p.m.
On Saturday, the quarterfinal and second-round consolation matches begin at 10:15 a.m. They will be followed by the consolation quarterfinals and championship semifinals as wrestling continues through the day.
The finals are set to be begin on Saturday at 6 p.m. with champions to be crowned in each weight class.
