Greenwich Teen Charge in Theft from GHS Staffer

Greenwich Police say tracking device on cell phone located suspect — a GHS student.

A Greenwich High School student was arrested Thursday afternoon after she was found with an Apple iPhone that was reported missing by an assistant teacher, according to Greenwich Police.

The assistant teacher told police she had left the phone on a desk while there were students in the room. She noticed it was missing during the changing of classes. The staffer was able to track the location of the phone to a home on Bible Street in Cos Cob, according to a police report.

Police said they questioned the girl who admitted to taking the phone and leaving school early, according to the report. Nicole F. Greenwald, who gave an address of 188 Bible St., Cos Cob, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released with a summons to appear Feb. 16 in state Superior Court in Stamford.

The phone was recovered and returned to the ownern.
