Letter: Povinelli 'Well Grounded' Education Steward

Dear Sir and Madam,

I am writing to urge your readers to consider voting for Anna Saras Povinelli, candidate for the Greenwich Board of Education, in the next election. Those of us who are blessed, not only for the privilege of living in a town such as ours, who also have children, understand well the importance of having qualified, “well grounded” stewards at the Board of Education level. Ms. Povinelli is such a person. As a father of four children in the Greenwich school system myself, I marvel at how much our town provides in the way of education. No one should underestimate the importance of budgeting for education, as well as, what we get for our money. Ms. Povinelli has lived in Greenwich fifteen years. She too has four children, and is a determined advocate for quality education which she understands well. In the several discussions the two of us have had in recent years, she has impressed me with a thorough knowledge of the issues and how to capably address them with well-reasoned policy. She is certainly worthy of your attention and, I would also like to take this opportunity to urge every reader to vote.
