Letter: Frantz Is 'Passionate' About State's Fiscal Health

By Art Auch

How often have I heard Scott Frantz talk about his serious concerns for the fiscal health of our state, the business climate, the pension? More times than I care to count. He is passionate about it and he talks about it all the time. So it surprised me that the context of his comments were so confusing to a handful of people. It was pretty clear to me that he was talking about jobs and the economy — again.

How to fix our broken fiscal policies in Connecticut and create an environment that encourages more businesses and job growth are his particular areas of expertise. If you really want to get into the details, believe me, he will walk you through it number by number by number by number.

The truth is, I don’t know the specific numbers, but I am certainly glad he does. Scott Frantz is concerned about equal opportunity because we are facing a situation economically that prevents equal opportunity. It prevents equal opportunity for our children graduating from college and looking for jobs, it prevents it for our grandchildren who will be saddled with debt, it prevents it for our workforce. Unless we get our economy on track, everything suffers.

Want to know what Scott Frantz is saying, what he means or the context of his comments? Ask him. I guarantee you an enlightening conversation about Connecticut’s failed fiscal policies and how they can be fixed.
