'Such Hypocrisy in That Little Village'

The best of today's comments from Patch account-holders in your town and neighboring communities.

DARIEN: "Why are the citizens of Darien so apathetic? Complain behind the scenes, but do not come out in public full force." This is one reader's response to previous comments posted on an article about the Board of Education's cut to Superintendent Stephen Falcone's proposed 2012-2013 fiscal year budget.

FAIRFIELD: "Obviously, you're new to Fairfield County. No one lives within their means here! They just need to be more selective in which debts to pay. Having your name and address published for delinquent taxes will cause them embarrassment. They should have stopped paying their mortgage instead. It takes ages for that to go through the system, and you don't end up on the 'Top 25' list on PATCH." This is one reader's response to an article about the top 25 delinquent taxpayers in Fairfield.

NEW CANAAN: "I suppose it would have been ok if they explained to the police that their coach told them to do it because it was going to be the basis for a bonfire later that night... Such hypocrisy in that little village." This is one reader's response to the arrest of two Wilton residents who allegedly tried to steal a New Canaan Rams flag from the press box at Dunning Field.

WESTON-REDDING-EASTON: "So, you're not allowed to have an argument anymore??? Sheesh..." This is one reader's response to news that a 46-year old man was charged with disorderly conduct after getting into a verbal dispute with his sister-in-law.

WILTON: "What is going on in this town??? I have been a resident for 17 years and I have my serious gripes with the school system, and have observed how they are primarily interested in their own bureaucracy and furthering their own goals, but I have NEVER seen such infantile sandbox squabbles as has been broadcast on the cyberwaves of Facebook, Twitter, Patch and any other megaphone that the mother mouths of Wilton have been treating us to in the past month. I am so appalled at the juvenile behavior that has governed the field hockey and cheerleading teams and now, the Miller-Driscoll Board, I can hardly stand living in this town anymore. Are we preparing for a stage version of 'Queen Bee Moms and Kingpin Dads?'" This is one reader's response to a "Letter to the Editor" from former Wilton's Miller-Driscoll PTA President, who, along with former PTA Vice President Robert Burkart, was voted out on Monday.
