High Energy Basketball—GHS Style

This Friday I watched my first real life basketball game in school. This is when I realized the amazing feeling of watching a real life basket ball game and how much school spirit it brings out.

This Friday, I watched my first real life basketball game in school.  This is when I realized the amazing feeling of watching a real life basket ball game and how much school spirit it brings.  I don't understand why basketball games are so underrated at my school.

Sitting in the bleachers, I felt all the energy surmounting in the gym.  Watching Greenwich High School players, the crowd can feel the energy that they are exerting to play the sport. I feel the same way as them, my heart is pounding, my body is sweating, and the overall feeling like I am the one playing on the court, even though I am a mere watcher in the bleachers.  We all celebrated wildly when Greenwich scored a point.

I feel disappointment when a play isn't executed that well or when an easy opportunity to score is blown, frustration when things are not going in your favor.  The audience together sympathized a loss.  The Cardinals didn't get the ball as much in the second half, as the Crusaders clamped down defensively.  The Crusaders scored 14 of the final 15 points in Friday's FCIAC matchup against the Cardinals, posting a hard-fought 44-37 comeback.  For the third quarter, the cardinals loosened on defense.  We have to take the feeling of unfinished business, bring it into the next game and keep moving forward.

When the half time came along and the new game started, two singers came and sang the national anthem- you could hear a pin drop as everyone stood there, mesmorized by their beautiful singing.  Through their song, I was reminded to keep hope alive and to conquer- we are America.  Basketball games in Greenwich High School are underrated, although there were some friends in the bleachers, most are parents of the players.  The whole event is so amazing with a sense of coming together and sharing one common goal for all.  In the light of the tragic Newtown shooting, it was great to be a part of an atmosphere where everyone came together to agree on one thing and take a break from our hectic and unpredictable lives.  I truly recommend going to see a basketball game as a chance to regain faith in humanity.

I'm so sorry this happened -- could you tell us what neighborhood you live in so we have a betterRead More idea of what part of town the cat may be in? Also, I'm curious whether animal control questioned your nephew -- there is a link between people who abuse animals and those who later abuse other people (and cats seem to be the 'gateway' to larger mammals). If anyone reading this has any suggestions on how to locate or lure back this kitty, please respond.

I hope you are able to prohibit your nephew from further access to animals. You did not mention hisRead More age, bu poor treatment of animals in youth is often a precursor to similar treatment/crimes against people in later years. I hope you have taken steps to correct this behavior, or have taken it up with his parents, if they are available.
