Six Old Greenwich Siblings Bring Christmas Cheer to Hospitalized Children

Marla and Keith Sernick of Old Greenwich, and their six children, Jake, 15; twins Reagan and Chloe, 8, and triplets Cooper, Carson and Katherine, 6, visited Greenwich Hospital Christmas Eve to bring some special Christmas cheer to children who are spending time in the hospital over the holiday.

“We want to teach our children that Christmas is about giving back and caring for others who are less fortunate,” said Marla Sernick. “Hopefully, it’s a lesson they’ll pass on to their own kids someday.”

Each of the Sernick children brought a brightly wrapped pillow pet – the perfect gift for a child who needs comforting or a snuggle during a hospital visit.

Christine Beechner, RN, Vice President of Patient and Guest Relations, who accepted the gifts on behalf of Greenwich Hospital, has already begun distributing the pillow pals. “The first recipient was a seven-year-old boy being treated in the Emergency Department,” she said.  “He was just thrilled with the gift!”
