Local Kids Are Regulars at Ada's Candy Shop in Riverside

Since she started managing Ada’s candy shop four years ago, Greenwich resident Theresa Stallings says she’s heard “dozens” of patrons come through talking about how they’ve been coming to the Riverside Avenue fixture since they were kids.

“They say their kids now go here and even their grandkids are coming to the same candy store they went to,” Stallings said with a smile on Monday afternoon.

Across the well-used candy counter stood 10-year-olds Tommy Harford and Matt Sisca, two Riverside School fourth-graders. The pair, who ride their bikes the shop on a regular basis, conceded that they may eventually talk the same way as the old folks who reminisce now.

Matt said he likes pink lemonade candy the best because “the flavors are good.” Tommy said he comes “two, three times a week” and prefers the Warheads since “they’re so sour.”
