Road Construction Starts Monday In Pemberwick - Expect Lane Closures

Residents who use Pemberwick Road to get from the Pemberwick and Glenville neighborhoods to get to the center of town may want to find alternate routes or give themselves extra travel time.

Construction of a major drainage project on Pemberwick Road in the area of Buena Vista Road and Grey Rock Drive is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug 12, at 7 a.m.

Travel will be restricted to one lane with Greenwich Police directing traffic in the area, according to Joseph Lloyd, the town's senior civil engineer. The Board of Selectmen approved the road closures which will be in effect until Sept. 16, at their Aug. 8 meeting.

The $838,000 project includes installation of 2,900 feet of storm drains and pipe, new manholes and catch basins and curbing and the repaving of Buena Vista, Grey Rock and Greenway Drive. The work is to be done by WJL Equities Corp. of Eastchester, NY.

Work on Pemberwick will be done 8 a.m., Monday through Friday; on Grey Rock and Greenway: 7 a.m. To 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Saturday work will be 9 a.m. To 5 p.m.

Signs notifying drivers of the lane closures were installed last week, Lloyd said.
