Sewer Construction Delays Cos Cob Traffic

If you're traveling through Cos Cob via Strickland Road, you may want to give yourself a little extra travel time.

Crews are replacing 2,200 feet of the 24-inch sewer force main from in front of 79 Strickland Rd. , across from the Mianus River Boat Club entrance. the project will continue across the railroad parking lot, then beneath the railroad overpass at Station Drive and Sound Shore Drive, and up Sound Shore to Sachem Road, according to the Greenwich Department of Public Works.

There are temporary one-lane road closures along that route as there were on Wednesday. Traffic is being directed by Greenwich Police.

The project is expected to continue through late fall, according to the DPW.
